Well, maybe Archer didn't die before becoming a Servant either. I don't remember it being mentioned anywhere that he had died. Plus, in UBW, it seems his experiences as a Servant had disillusioned him so I'd say he definitely kept his memories over time.

I always like to think that, because of the fact that the Servant system exists outside of time itself (hence how Archer could be called), Servants have fought in several Grail Wars before, and not necessarily the ones mentioned in Fate. I mean like wars in an alternate future, where the Grail War WASN'T completed and stuff like that. I'm sure Zelretch is getting his kicks watching all of this occur.

If I remember correctly, Archer became a heroic spirit in order to save a bunch of people. Though, no note if he died as a result, or went the same way as Saber.

Argh. This keeps going out of topic...
I'll make this simple. You become a hero or you make a pact with the World and offer your afterlife to it. You become a Heroic Spirit after you die.
The main body is normally finished and doesn't develop anymore but since it exists outside of normal time, there's an archive of information available on everything in general. In Archer's (and yes, the Emiya Shirou he was based off of was killed by one of the people he saved) case, he could tell what his copies have done without having actually experienced those things himself. Normally, heroic spirits are summoned in times of crisis and not as Servants. The ones that people have weaker faith in, Counter Guardians, are summoned as mindless beings that kill everything in site. Their amount of power (I guess in terms of Mana?) is about the equivalent of what Sakura had towards the end of the Heaven's Feel route.
The Servant system is just one unique way of summoning Heroic Spirits.

Heh... it's funny how this was once a picture thread. The main F/ha thread must be lonely. But then again, how often do we get discussions about eirei and stuff? We cannot pass up an opportunity to milk you for information, Arai. :)

...even if I sorta' tried to bait you for it. :D Please don't think bad of me; I was just curious. ^_^;

I actually always wondered if that archive of information was in anyway related to the Akashic Record. My sister asked me that question some time ago when I told her about the "copying" thing, and I was kinda' going, "Uhhh..." (Twas before reading anything about "the root of all things" and what lies there)

Warning, like Eva last eps, some content in there can shock the fan to extreme onction, also feature some extra VIP to garantee the quality :D

Those links are now obsolete because no one downloaded since 1 month.

I re-upped them, brand shiny compressed files from the ripped original movie of the game, enjoy.

Character poll should be starting soon.
In the meantime, the people who have the serial codes for the game can enjoy the new character icons and commentary for the characters on the voting page (via the support page).
