I have been looking at different import shops and none of them had Tsukihime in stock. Does anyone know any stores where I can buy it?

Basically forget it outside of auction sites. Unless there's some obscure japanese shop in a small town that still has a few in the storage room there is no way you are going to find one.

The best place (perhaps the only place) is in Yahoo! Japan Auctions (http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/). Search for it under the name "月姫" and then put a bid with the auction agents Akibado http://www.akibado.com/index.html (recomended) or Rinkya http://www.rinkya.com/

It's funny why the game is HTF. I suppose since the airing of the Tsukihime series in Japan, fans of the show went out to buy the game.

The only sure place you can find it is thise site:
www.himeyashop.com
unfortunately, it's as the whole Tsuki Bako pack (which includes Tsukihime, Tsukihime Plus Disc, and Kagetsu Toya) and it costs $500 plus shipping charges so unless you just won the lottery or have a good deal of money, then you're screwed

Nope. Tsukihime has been hard to find since way before the anime was released.

Yes it was easy. Klee himself bought Tsukibako at normal price, at Himeya, few weeks before the anime aired. I think what made it rare is indeed the double effect of the anime and Re-ACT. I think it's worst right now because of the wide release of Act Cadenza and the long Fan disc wait craving of Fate fans...

I remember being able to snatch Tsukibako at Himeya when the anime was about to start (or close to the start) at "normal" price (as normal as Himeya can be), but I was able to get it after Himeya managed to get a restock (they had it sold out for a while before I got my copy).
If my memory is correct, during that time the prices in Yahoo Japan were already pretty high. I remember to be extremely surprised to see that Himeya had some copies, and I also remember that no more than two weeks later, Himeya was sold out. That's the last time that I saw Tsukihime available at an online store before the current $500 copy they have.
