Mahoyo - The novel on Aoko
« Thread Started on Sept 12, 2004, 3:06am »

I bet the hardcore fans in Japan knew about this long time ago, but I found this just today after some massive online search. It's a back log on Takuchi & Kinoko's site which has some information on –‚–@Žg‚¢‚Ì–é`Witch on the Holy Night`, the novel having Aoko as one of the main characters. written in 1996!

http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/9749/mahoyo8he.jpg

Characters
ÂèÂŽq Aoko Aozaki
‹v‰“Ž›—LŽì Alice Kuonji
ÂèžòŽq Tohko Aozaki
Êó‘\˜Y@Soujyurou Shizuki (?)

The story takes place when Aoko was in High school. She is accidently witnessed by a guy called Soujyurou when she was using her magic. As you know mages needs to hide their art from others and keep them sacred. The things is, Soujyurou just came out of the country side and everything in the urban city is new to him. So he thinks her magic was normal for the people living in the city. But persuaded by the other girl who's also a mage, Alice, Aoko decides to kill Soujyurou....

The story wasn't what I was expecting, but the concept is kind of interesting. It didn't say how Tohko is invovled, but she seems to have some kind of eye power that wasn't discussed in Kara no Kyokai. (Which in fact makes sense for Shiki's glasses.)

Aoko in school uniform...!!

Sadly, this book hasn't been publically released...

...Kinoko romanizes names in KANJI?

(For those who don't know, one of "—LŽì"'s nanori readings is "Arisu".)

I kinda noticed that Touko's Hair was... not blue....

Also, were those pictures "official"? Or just fanmade?

Yes, he most definitely improved. Yet there is a touch of roughness that gives his early art an appeal....

Agreed.

To Evospace: What do you say about translating or summarizing Aoko's novel once you obtain it?

Indeed, we need more Aoko information. Wee, and more Aoko in a high school uniform, but I guess that's just as hard to come by as information.

Well, official in the sense that Kinoko wrote it. But, like Evo said it was never publicly released it seems.

(Incidentally, I keep misreading the title as "Mahonyo" and thinking it's a novel about Cat-Arc....)

Kirei, Souren, and Tatsuya all look somewhat like Nero. Kinda establishes continuity, doesn't it?

And yes, it's official, or as official as it can get, since this is long before Takuchi's circle became an official company.

Yeah that is one of the thing I really want to know more about other than just the basic part... ^_^;

I think that only kinokos close friend have seen the actual story. What we get are tidbits and rumors ;D
